Gordon Lambert is President and CEO of GRL Collaboration for Sustainability Inc., and is the Suncor Sustainability Executive in Residence at the Ivey School of Business.
Prior to establishing his own consultancy, Mr. Lambert had a distinguished career in sustainability, having served as Suncor’s Vice President, Sustainable Development for 17 years. In 2013, he was appointed Executive Advisor of Sustainability and Innovation, where he supported Suncor’s CEO, senior executive team, and Board of Directors. Before joining Suncor, Mr. Lambert worked for two years with TransAlta and 15 years with Imperial Oil. With 36 years’ experience in the energy sector, Mr. Lambert has a deep understanding of energy, the environment, and innovation, having been an advisor and frequent speaker on the topics.
Mr. Lambert was instrumental in the creation of Canada’s Oil Sands Innovation Alliance (COSIA) and in 2014 was a speaker on Innovation and Collaboration at the World Economic Forum in Tianjin, China.
He is currently a Member of the Board of Alberta Innovates. He served as a member of the Alberta Climate Leadership Expert Panel to the Environment Minister and the Premier, and in 2016 was appointed Chair of the Alberta Climate Leadership Task Force on Technology and Innovation.
Gordon holds a bachelor’s degree in Marine Biology from the University of Guelph, and completed the Richard Ivey School of Business’ Executive Program in 1997.
