The AER has entered into a strategic partnership with the International Centre of Regulatory Excellence (ICORE) through a memorandum of understanding that formalizes efforts to work collaboratively, share information and expertise and build an international community dedicated to regulatory excellence in extractive industries such as energy and mining.
Officially launched earlier this year, ICORE is a non-partisan, not-for-profit organization dedicated to creating a global platform for world-class regulatory training, collaboration, and innovation for regulators around the world. Drawing on expertise from at home and abroad, ICORE will be the global centre of regulatory excellence for extractive industries.
As a founding member of ICORE, the AER will offer expertise in the form of in-kind services provided by AER subject matter experts. This partnership directly supports the AER as it further enables the important work of building and continuously improving regulators that excel in engagement, technical acumen, and regulatory innovation – initiatives that will benefit all Albertans through increased sharing of best practices and collaboration with global regulators.
