NOTE: As of April 4, 2016, the External Winter Drilling Report (WDR) has been discontinued.
In July 2014, the AER announced improved processing times and consistent timeframes for all PLA applications, and implemented the first series of process changes on September 15, 2014.
In November 2014, the AER began posting the weekly Winter Drilling Report – 2014/2015 Season to our website. The report summarizes weekly activity from applications under the Public Lands Act (PLA), including date on applications registered, decisions made, and the overall reduction in backlogged applications.
The AER is committed to providing Albertans with current and accurate information about our application process and all aspects of energy resource development that we regulate as we strive to become a best-in-class regulator.
