In 2003, the Energy Resources Conservation Board (ERCB) introduced electronic application submission through its Digital Data Submission (DDS) system.
To further enhance the quality of incoming applications and reduce costs for both industry and the ERCB, the ERCB has implemented enhancements to the DDS system to permit additional Waste and Storage, Facilities, and Technical Operations applications to be submitted electronically.
Commencing June 27, 2011, the following application types may be submitted electronically through the DDS system on the ERCB Web site at www.ercb.ca. To facilitate the transition to electronic filing via DDS, the ERCB will continue to accept hard copies of these applications until December 31, 2011. Effective January 1, 2012, all application types listed below must be filed electronically through DDS.
1) Directive 050: Drilling Waste Management
2) Directive 051: Injection and Disposal Wells
3) Oil and Gas Conservation Act, Section 39
4) Directive 055: Storage Requirements for the Upstream Petroleum Industry
5) Directive 058: Oilfield Waste Management Requirements for the Upstream Petroleum Industry
Electronic application submission (EAS) is through the DDS system on the ERCB website www.ercb.ca. An applicant must have a company administrator log-in ID to access the DDS system. The company administrator is responsible for creating additional log-in IDs for any individuals submitting applications on the company’s behalf. For DDS accounts, contact the ERCB administrator by telephone at 403-297-5802 or by e-mail at DDSAdministrator@ercb.ca.
Training sessions to demonstrate how to submit eligible application types using EAS will be held at the ERCB Head Office, 250 – 5 Street SW, Calgary, Alberta, as follows:
