Codes of Practice

There are several codes of practice referenced in the Water Act; they dictate specific requirements for certain activities. These activities are representative of a lower level of environmental intensity and impact and don’t require full Water Act approval; they are instead managed through a less rigorous review process. Overall, codes of practice provide operators a simpler way to receive approvals through a process appropriately scaled to the level of risk being managed.
