We are aware of a pipeline release reported by Ricochet Oil Corporation (Ricochet) within the Blue Rapids Provincial Recreation Area. The AER has a field inspector on site to oversee response activities and ensure regulations are being followed. Alberta Parks has been notified.
The company has responded appropriately, the affected line has been isolated, and the release has been stopped and contained.
As a precaution, members of the public are asked to avoid the immediate area while response and cleanup activities continue. Ricochet supported the temporary relocation of recreational park users to allow this work to proceed safely.
At this time, there are no reported impacts to wildlife or waterbodies, and no injuries or evacuations have been reported.
