The Alberta Energy Regulator (the AER) has issued a Final Administrative Penalty decision in the amount of $450,364.00 to Taber Water Disposal Inc. for waste management contraventions of approval granted under the Oil and Gas Conservation Act (OGCA) that occurred June 27, 2024, and continued periodically to January 17, 2025, at or near Taber, Alberta.
Following an investigation, the AER determined that Taber Water Disposal had, on multiple occasions, accepted and disposed of waste that it was not authorized to accept and, on multiple occasions, accepted out-of-province waste, contrary to its approvals.
Adherence to waste management regulatory requirements is needed for the successful management of energy resource activities to protect the environment and preserve public safety.
