Today we released the Licence Transfer Security Estimator, giving industry a self-serve way to estimate the security that may be required when transferring energy assets. The tool offers companies a way to understand potential security requirements before submitting a transfer application. It also allows companies to generate an estimate of security using the calculations outlined in Manual 023.
It is important to note, however, as clearly stated in a disclaimer on the tool, that the numbers generated are for planning purposes only. Actual security amounts are determined by the AER following a formal regulatory review.
This new tool is part of our ongoing commitment to provide industry with better data to support responsible resource development. It does not replace or alter any existing liability requirements.
