Effective November 2, 2026, industry and service contractors must submit select compliance-related operational notifications through OneStop. This change is part of our ongoing commitment to modernize and streamline our regulatory technology and processes.

Questions:
Why is the AER moving operational notifications to OneStop?
Moving operational notifications to OneStop enables a more modern and consistent submission process and improved data management for users. It also supports the AER in efficient, consistent, and risk-informed decision making.
How do service contractors access OneStop to submit operational notifications?
- Contractors who wish to operate under their own business associate (BA) code must obtain a BA code through Petrinex. Once a BA code has been assigned, email DDSAdministrator@aer.ca to request company master administrator access for that BA code.
- Contractors may operate under a licensee's BA code. To do this, the licensee's company master administrator must first create a DDS account for the contractor and assign the appropriate roles and permissions within the system before any submissions can be made. Refer to the DDS User Guide for instructions on creating user accounts, assigning roles, and managing access. Contractors who operate under a licensee's BA code must ensure that the "Acting As" selection in the top-right corner of OneStop is set to the appropriate licensee before submitting notifications.
What will happen to operational notifications submitted before November 2?
Operational notifications submitted before November 2, 2026, will continue through their existing process.
Will historical notification information still be available for industry?
Yes. Historical information will be available in the system in which it was submitted (e.g., DDS).
Are any AER rules or directives changing?
Yes. The AER will make administrative amendments to select rules and directives to support digital submission of non-emergency operational notifications through OneStop. These amendments will modernize submission methods while maintaining existing regulatory intent, obligations, and reporting timelines.
A list of amended rules and directives will be published on this page on November 2.
Will these changes affect the Compliance Dashboard?
No. There will be no changes to the Compliance Dashboard.
Will there be user training and support for these changes?
Yes. Virtual user information sessions will be offered in October before go-live, and on-demand support will be available through the OneStop Help Centre.
For general inquiries, industry can email inquiries@aer.ca or call 403-297-8311.
How do I report a OneStop error or bug?
Use the new OneStop Error Reporting Form to report OneStop system errors. The form captures the error details, which are tracked so that errors can be addressed as quickly as possible. Support staff work to resolve issues promptly; however, some cases may take up to seven business days to address.
