The AER is aware of the incident at Canadian Forces Base Wainwright and is monitoring the situation closely.
There is oil and natural gas infrastructure on the base under the control of multiple operators. At this time, the AER has not received any reports of incidents involving oil and gas infrastructure and is communicating with operators in the area. Operators must notify the AER immediately if an incident affects their assets or facilities.
The AER continues to monitor the situation and has not been engaged by the lead agency or other provincial agencies in any response at this time.
