OneStop Outage – Maintenance Release

no current outages scheduled

Water Licensing Legacy Data Import

Effective February 23, 2026, Water Resources Act (WRA) licences that were impacted by legacy data migration challenges are now available in OneStop. Applications for amendments and required submissions can now be completed in the system.

As the AER continues to move data into OneStop, we will update the water licensing data migration list with the authorizations, submissions, and applications that are available in the system. The migration list has tabs organized by data categories (e.g., WRA data will be contained in the WRA Licences – February 2026 tab). Please select the tab that is relevant to the category you are searching for.

Annual Methane Emissions Reporting Moving to Petrinex March 5

The AER is moving annual methane emissions reporting from OneStop to Petrinex. More updates will follow.

On Thursday, March 5, 2026, annual methane emissions reporting will move to Petrinex.

Effective immediately: OneStop will no longer accept new annual methane emissions reports.
Future submissions: Beginning March 5, all annual methane emissions reports must be submitted through Petrinex.

OneStop will remain available for amending past reports and submitting annual reports related to Directive 039 and Directive 084.

About OneStop

OneStop is the AER’s application review technology that processes energy- and resource-related applications in Alberta.

When an operator submits an application into OneStop, the technology uses a complex set of rules to determine the necessary level of review. Lower risk applications (or components of an application) can be approved automatically through OneStop within minutes, as they’re considered routine with no impact on public safety or the environment. All other applications (or components of an application) are redirected to technical experts for additional review and assessment.
