AER Communications During the Provincial Election Campaign
During an election period, Government of Alberta guidelines require that all government agencies, boards, and commissions shift their communications into low gear, only information that is deemed vital can be issued or posted. This means that news releases, statements, bulletins, external presentations, and social media posts are restricted during the election and the transition period unless emergency situations or matters affecting public health arise.
Media requests will be addressed promptly, although we will be limited to sharing only technical information during this time. We will not be commenting on existing or proposed programs.
We have received special permission from the Chief Electoral Officer to continue communicating directly with Indigenous communities and the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo on matters related to Imperial’s Kearl site.
