Purpose of this Directive

This addendum to Directive 055 describes the minimum requirements for use of aboveground, synthetically-lined wall storage systems in the Alberta upstream petroleum industry, and it updates liner requirements and optional diking requirements for temporary single-walled aboveground storage tanks. The requirements are designed to provide acceptable storage practices that do not compromise public safety or environmental protection.
