Jim Ellis is resigning after five years at the helm

Alberta - November 02, 2018

In her first public statement in her new role as Alberta Energy Regulator (AER) chair, Sheila O’Brien announced that AER President and CEO Jim Ellis is leaving the very organization he helped create over five years ago.

“Jim’s leadership and strategic vision has been vital to the launch and growth of the AER,” said O’Brien. “He built a new organization from the ground up, ensuring that the needs of all stakeholders were embedded in the decision-making framework.”

Ellis will be staying in his role at the AER until January 31, 2019, to allow for the recruitment of his replacement, a process that will begin immediately.
