Every decision we issue is governed by provincial legislation. Examples of decisions include approvals for licences, leases, authorizations, and certificates. The following table details
- what type of decisions can be appealed (in accordance with legislation),
- who can file a request for regulatory appeal, and
- our request deadlines.

- any person who is directly and adversely affected by a decision of the AER under an energy resource enactment,
- any person who is permitted under the specified enactments to file a notice of appeal under those enactments, or
- any other person described in the regulation
