Western Canadian Spill Services used a variety of equipment during a spill response

Tube men or sky dancers aren’t just inflatable eyesores used by car dealerships to attract attention. They are integral to keeping wildlife away when there is a pipeline release or spill.

The staff at Western Canadian Spill Services—a co-op that helps its members respond to oil and gas emergencies—are pros when it comes to spill response. They demonstrated their equipment to emergency response staff from the Alberta Energy Regulator (AER) and members of the Western Cree Tribal Council earlier this year.
