This form is for submitting claims for suspension, abandonment, remediation, or reclamation.
Submit the cost claim form once the corresponding activity has been completed and entered in the designated information submission system. Include all relevant supporting documents listed below (see attachments) with the submission. For processing efficiency, only one claim submission per activity type will be accepted. For example, it is not permitted to submit abandonment work for a licence that is in multiple stages. All abandonment activities associated with a given licence must be compiled and submitted together in a single submission.
The AER and Orphan Well Association (OWA) may request additional information to support your claim.
The working interest participant (WIP) name and percentage you provide must exactly match AER records. This information can be confirmed using our online licence reports (Wells, Facilities).
If the records do not match, do not submit the claim. It will be rejected.
- As per Directive 067, WIP records need to be updated by the licensee.
- If you are the licensee of record, please update the WIP records.
- If you are not the licensee of record, please email CostClaims@aer.ca to complete a WIP change; ensure you have appropriate documentation (e.g., purchase sales agreement, etc.).
